The cup-shaped tool head allows for processing multiple sealed tubes or containers at once, without touching the ultrasonic tool head. This method eliminates cross-contamination, sample foaming, overheating, and aerosolization that can occur when using the tool head. Most importantly, the cup-shaped tool head can effectively process samples under 200µl.
The cup-shaped tool head, filled with water, screws onto the transducer in place of the standard tool head. Microtubes containing samples are placed inside using a specially designed tube holder. A variety of tube holders are available to accommodate various tube and container sizes. Ultrasonic energy is transmitted to the sample tubes through the water.
Inlet and outlet ports allow cooling water to circulate within the cup, suppressing heat buildup during extended operation. The use of a cooler is highly recommended, and due to the high noise levels generated by the cup-shaped tool head, a soundproofing enclosure is required.
