Ultrasonic dispersion of slurry

Ultrasonic dispersion of slurry

Ultrasonic can effectively disperse the slurry, its principle and advantages are as follows:
1. Working principle:
A. Cavitation effect: When ultrasonic waves propagate in the liquid medium, there will be a change in pressure in a small area of the liquid. When the pressure is lowered below the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid, a large number of tiny bubbles form in the liquid, which are called cavitation bubbles. As the ultrasonic wave continues to act, the cavitation bubble will continue to grow, contract, and finally collapse. At the moment of the collapse of the cavitation bubble, extremely high pressure and temperature will be generated locally, forming strong shock waves and microjets. This powerful impact force can act on the particles in the slurry, dispersing them and breaking the agglomeration structure between the particles.
b. Mechanical vibration: the propagation of ultrasonic waves will cause mechanical vibration of the liquid medium, which will be transmitted to the particles in the slurry, making the particles produce violent movement. The collision and friction between particles will increase the distance between them, thus achieving the effect of dispersion.

2. Advantages:
a. Good dispersion effect: ultrasonic dispersion can make the particles in the slurry evenly distributed in the liquid medium, dispersed particles are finer, uniformity and stability is better, can effectively improve the quality of the slurry.
b. Wide range of application: can be used for a variety of types of slurry dispersion, whether it is high viscosity slurry or difficult to disperse nanoscale particle slurry, can achieve better dispersion effect.
c. High efficiency: Compared with traditional dispersion methods such as mechanical mixing, ultrasonic dispersion is faster and can be completed in a short time, greatly improving production efficiency.
d. Easy operation: The operation of the ultrasonic dispersion equipment is relatively simple, only need to immerse the ultrasonic transducer in the slurry, open the equipment can be dispersed.
e. Green environmental protection: no additional chemical reagents need to be added in the dispersion process, no pollutants will be produced, and it is environmentally friendly.
However, when using ultrasonic for slurry dispersion treatment, it is also necessary to select the appropriate ultrasonic parameters, such as frequency, power, processing time, etc., according to the specific nature and requirements of the slurry, in order to achieve the best dispersion effect.
